Short answer: many nationalities enter Malaysia without a visa, including Portuguese and Brazilian citizens. Bangladeshi, Nepali and Pakistani citizens need a visa, and can apply online through the official eVISA portal from Portugal. Indian citizens can enter visa-free for up to 30 days until 31 December 2026. Every visitor, visa or not, must also complete the free Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) before arrival.
Information as of October 2026.
Who needs a visa
| Passport | What you need (tourism) |
|---|---|
| Portuguese, other EU, Brazilian | No visa + MDAC |
| Indian | Visa-free up to 30 days until 31 Dec 2026 + MDAC |

Your Portuguese TRC does not exempt you, but it lets you apply while living in Portugal. Malaysia also narrowed multiple-entry visas to 31 nationalities and four purposes in 2026; for a normal holiday, the single-entry eVISA is the usual route.
